The Distribution Assistant will be responsible for loading orders, both kegs and cases, onto vans and trucks, removing empties and keeping company vehicles clean and organized. They will drive on various routes that include Monterey, Santa Cruz, Sacramento, and the Bay Area, delivering orders and cross checking the delivery manifest to ensure accuracy. It’s imperative for drivers to maintain and bolster relationships with our accounts, therefore a friendly, professional and proactive attitude is a must. The pickup of empty shells is crucial, and must be done at every stop. Drivers will also ensure that our delivery vehicles are maintained and running strong at all times.
Operate keg washer to complete a minimum of 40 cycles, twice a week.
Organize cooperage between clean and dirty, often with a forklift.
Work with sales team and drivers to load up company vehicles with orders that correspond to the delivery manifest.
Unload empty kegs and maintain cleanliness of company vehicles.
Make local deliveries, often to our brewpub in Monterey, multiple times a week.
Assist drivers on delivery routes to the Bay Area weekly.
Perform weekly inventory tasks.
Clean driving record with no issues for a minimum of three years.
High attention to detail in regards to quality, safety, and data collection.
Must be 21 years of age or older
Able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check
Forklift certification preferred
Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment with a growing company
Passion for beer, enthusiastic about the process and a desire to learn
Able to stand, walk, and be on your feet for prolonged periods
Able to read and follow written English instructions
Able to regularly twist, turn, kneel, climb, stoop, bend, crawl, lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 55 pounds using appropriate techniques and tools
Able to safely navigate the tasting room and crowded spaces
Able to maneuver packages of any weight above 75 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance
Able to move 165-pounds, using appropriate techniques and tools
Able to work in a factory/production environment which may be loud, slick, humid, cold, and hot
Able to work in indoor and outdoor environments with moderate noise and occasionally slippery floors
Able to comply with and enforce all health, safety, and personal hygiene policies and standards.
